Open Studio · Hull Mark Mapping Workbench v0.1.0

Turn ship-side reference lines into a reviewable coordinate record.

A browser-only, vendor-neutral workbench for plotting local reference points and intended line segments, then screening user-supplied measured points against user-supplied tolerances. It supports evidence handoff without planning or controlling a flight or certifying a mark.

Evidence flow

Reference, compare, and hand off.

1 · Reference

Define a bounded local panel frame and record three or more non-collinear control points with evidence references.

2 · Compare

Plot intended segments and measured samples, then calculate point-to-segment RMS, P95, maximum, and within-tolerance share.

3 · Handoff

Export the normalized record and target-level summary for independent review against drawings, calibration, and site procedures.

Local-coordinate review workbench

Paste reference points, intended line segments, and measured samples. The tool validates the dataset, draws a bounded panel map, and calculates transparent deviation statistics in your browser.

Project and coordinate frame

Panel review map

Orange lines are intended targets; teal circles are control points; white points are measured samples. This is a schematic local frame, not a 3D hull reconstruction.

Why this narrow release

Mapping evidence should exist before autonomy claims.

OpenDroneMap documents ground control points as a way to correct distortion and reference outputs to known coordinate systems. This release borrows the evidence discipline—not its full photogrammetry pipeline—and uses a simple user-defined 2D panel frame.

ArduPilot Mission Planner can create survey grids and camera-trigger missions. This workbench deliberately does not produce those missions: the responsible operator must separately validate airframe, sensors, standoff, site boundaries, navigation, and emergency procedures.

IMO load-line rules prescribe dimensions, visibility, permanence, placement, and verification for assigned load-line marks. A browser calculation cannot replace the Administration or recognized surveyor, so regulated marks trigger a warning rather than an acceptance result.

Input contract

Four records with visible provenance.

Panel frame

Project ID, surface label, local-frame description, width, and height.

Reference points

ID, x/y metres, and the survey or evidence reference that supports each point.

Target segments

Endpoints, target kind, user-supplied review tolerance, and drawing or specification reference.

Measured samples

Target ID, sample ID, x/y metres, and the source-image or measurement reference.

License and limits

A complete record is not an accepted mark.

The Apache-2.0 reference package contains UAMKT-authored parsing, validation, deviation calculations, tests, and synthetic data. It does not transform pixels, reconstruct a curved hull, validate calibration, compensate rotor-wall interaction, control a marker or aircraft, or determine legal, class, shipyard, drawing, EHS, permanence, or visibility acceptance. Do not enter confidential coordinates unless your device and governance rules permit it.
